My name is Thomas, and I’ve been passionate about watchmaking for nearly 15 years, especially vintage timepieces. I’m a lover of all things old and meaningful, which I enjoy collecting, restoring, and using. What draws me in is the sense of soul and history these objects carry. For me, this passion is more than just an aesthetic, it's an expression of identity.
What fascinates me above all is understanding how things work. I’m naturally curious and can spend hours researching, exploring, and learning. This thirst for knowledge naturally led me to watchmaking. I started out self-taught, dismantling watches to understand how they work, while exchanging with experienced watchmakers. That journey took me from discovery to customization, and eventually to designing my own timepieces.
The desire to create watches came from wanting to wear something truly unique, handcrafted, shaped by multiple skills, and inspired by the timeless elegance of vintage watches. Unable to find myself in existing artisanal brands, I set out to design a watch that reflects simplicity, vintage charm, and elegance.
My Philosophy
I deeply believe in the value of objects made with passion and precision. That’s what guides me in creating my watches. Each Carmel watch is one of a kind, featuring a natural gemstone dial with rich, authentic colors.
I also pay special attention to the engraving of nature-inspired motifs, which give each watch its own personality and character. My goal is to create pieces that are simple and elegant, yet unlike anything you’ve seen before.
Carmel watches are entirely handcrafted: from the decoration of the dial to the assembly of the hands and the final installation of the movement inside the case. All engravings are done in my own workshop, which allows for full creative freedom. Each watch is fitted with a genuine Swiss movement, ensuring outstanding reliability and precision.
Every step of the process is carried out with care, in full respect of traditional watchmaking standards.
